What do you do to limit your environmental impact ?Updated 2 months ago

As a fashion company, it is our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact. Here are some daily actions that reflect our willingness to always do better:

Production location :
- We select certified materials, the vast majority of which are manufactured in Europe (90%) by carefully selected partners.
- Every year, we produce 90% creations in Europe and the Mediterranean area, building a trustful relationship with partners we have been working with since Rouje was born, and ensuring impeccable quality over the years.
- Because our social impact also counts, we limit our production in China to a strict minimum (1%) where we only produce pieces that require skills that do not exist anywhere else.

Production volumes :
We produce in quantities that are as low as possible, which can lead to shortages as you may have already noticed ;) It's because we prefer to manage small quantities and restock them only if necessary.

Transport :
We designed our production chain to minimise air transport. The proximity of our production partners allows us to have 72% of our transport done by road, which is much less polluting.

Packaging :
To use more sustainable packaging, we rethought usual practices: the role of our packaging is first and foremost to protect your items while they travel from their place of birth to our warehouses.
Before, every item was wrapped in plastic "polybags" in our warehouses before being wrapped in tissue paper and getting sent away.
Today, we protect your items with a single paper container to reduce wrapping layers.
We chose the most local paper possible (it's Italian) to guarantee your items are protected while reducing our carbon footprint.

Upcycling :
With each collection, a new upcycled and socially responsible piece is created with fabrics from our past collections. All profits generated by this item are given to the charity La Maison des Femmes.
